The event, to raise funds for Leukaemia Research, was attended by a host of sporting celebrities from the world of athletics, cricket, football, golf, rugby and entertainment.
Among the celebrities to help the amateur teams of three to compete for this year's trophy, was Ronan Keating, Peter Baker, Gordon Brand Jnr., Jimmy Case, Roger Chapman, Steve Cram, Mark Davies, Matt Dawson, Paul Way, Phil Golding, Nasser Hussain, Malcolm MacKenzie, Sir Viv Richards, Steve Richardson and Vinny Samways.
The tournament is being presented by CGTV Games Ltd and sponsored by Java Trading Company, the high quality coffee specialist.
Sir Ian Botham comments, "Desert Springs Resort and Golf Club is a place close to my own heart and, I think, the best family retreat in Europe. The commitment of my sporting celebrity friends, who are giving up their time for the Charity Classic, and the enthusiasm of the sponsors and players who have entered the event will guarantee great golf, fun and friendship. Most of all, we will raise much needed funds for Leukaemia Research, of which I am president." golfbusinessnews.com
