Opened shortly after Campo Asia, Campo America, formerly the North Course, is some 250 metres longer and carries a par of 73 (there are five par 5s).
The hilly topography is similar to Campo Asia and did not lend itself to the creation of any water holes. Carry shots across steep grunkle-covered side slopes more than make up for the lack of water.
The wide maintained fairway and rough areas and more "joined" fairways make this a slightly easier driving course than the South. There are fewer fairway bunkers as well.
Two, perhaps three, of the par 5s are reachable in two (holes 1, 9 and 15), and the par 3s are equally spectacular to those on Campo Asia.
Campo America requires accurate and well-judged shot-making on the approach as nearly three quarters of the greens are perched or slightly elevated.

HOLE 1PAR 5 - HCP 9Spectacular downhill open drive to a wide landing area. The fairway bunkers are generally out of reach from the upper tees but are definitely in play from the lower ones. A long narrow and undulating green makes club selection important if a birdie is to be won on this reachable par 5.

HOLE 2PAR 4 - HCP 13A relatively short dogleg right from a slightly elevated tee. The best line is to the right of the fairway bunker. The green sits above the fairway and is set on a diagonal. Although bunker less, the wavy putting surface demands an accurate second shot. |

HOLE 3PAR 4 - HCP 15A straightforward tee shot down the middle between the flanking fairway bunkers. The approach shot should only require a short iron or wedge but the narrow elongated green has subtle slopes and is well defended on the right by bunkers. A small terrace at the rear presents a particularly difficult flag location. |

HOLE 4PAR 3 - HCP 11This is probably the most difficult of the par 3s. The green has a steep face and the right side slopes severely down to a large bunker and grassy hollows. Shots to the left encounter steep slopes and the possibility of being stymied by the two oak trees. Par here is a good score regardless of the tee in question. |

HOLE 5PAR 4 - HCP 7A short but tricky par 4. Bite off what you can chew of the mountainside slope with your drive, or take the safer route to the right of the fairway bunkers. Either way the short second shot is uphill to a narrow terraced green. There are no green side bunkers but the prevailing winds tend to push the ball to the right. |

HOLE 6PAR 5 - HCP 1Another 'bite off the corner' tee shot, but again there is ample room to the left. The second shot is downhill to a landing area well defined by grunkle and bunkers. The approach shot is sharply uphill to a small green defended on the left by three small bunkers. Though not long for a par 5, bogies will outnumber pars. |

HOLE 7PAR 4 - HCP 5Wind will be a factor on this downhill tee shot. Cutting the corner of the dogleg is an option for long hitters but will result in an uphill second shot to a blind putting surface. The boomerang-shaped green is fairly large with bunkers left and rear. This is a strong and attractive par 4, well deserving of its 5 handicap rating. |

HOLE 8PAR3 - HCP 17A short uphill par 3 to a relatively large green with subtle contours. This is a good birdie opportunity if you get the distance and direction right. |

HOLE 9PAR 5 - HCP 3This is a dramatic double dogleg par 5. The temptation to cut the corner on the downhill tee shot should be avoided as the carry is longer than it appears and the prevailing wind can push the ball into the grunkle. From the centre of the landing area the second shot is either downhill across the lake to the side hill green or safely down to the right for a pitch over the two bunkers to the green. Reaching this green in two is a definite thrill. |

HOLE 10PAR 4 - HCP 14The tee shot plays across a valley to a fairway rising all the way to the green. The approach will require plenty of club as short will not get you on. There is ample room behind the green. |

HOLE 11PAR 3 - HCP 16This is the longest par 3 on the North Course. The downhill tee shot to an open-entrance green is inviting, but the hole often plays into the wind. A slight rise in front of the green will stop a weak shot. There is room off to the left and the support mounds to the rear encourage the use of one more club than would appear necessary. |

HOLE 12PAR 4 - HCP 8The ideal tee shot here should end up between the rocks on the left and the right fairway bunker. Beyond that the fairway dips sharply before rising up to the green. The right-hand and rear green side bunkers are more defensive than strategic. Putting is made somewhat difficult by the soft rise separating the left and right sides of the green. |

HOLE 13PAR 4 - HCP 4The smart drive here is off the hillside to the right, just below and beyond the bunker. From the landing area opposite the rocks it is only a mid or short iron across the side slope up to the green. Here again, short of the green will not suffice. Subtle slopes and a tight left rear pin position make this green challenging. |

HOLE 14PAR 4- HCP 12A downhill drive to a fairly flat landing area which zigzags between bunkers. Right centre should be the target to avoid playing over OB on the approach. The diagonally-oriented green sits well above the fairway and is guarded on the left side by a deep bunker. The putting surface is divided by a swale. This hole is more difficult for most players than its 12 handicap would indicate. |

HOLE 15PAR 5 - HCP 2The left dogleg on this long par 5 is protected by a trio of bunkers, but for most players both the first and second landing areas are generous. Players attacking the green with their second shot run the risk of ending up in the deep valley or hollows defending the entrance to the green. The putting green is receptive to long approaches but only the longest hitters will be able to take advantage of this fact. |

HOLE 16PAR 3 - HCP 18A short and dramatic par 3 with most of all three of La Cala’s courses in view. Elevation difference, wind, and a small lake fronting the green make club selection 'and execution' vital. Laying up to the left is a questionable option. |

HOLE 17PAR 4 - HCP 10The best line for the drive should be the cart path. There is a lot of grass on that side and nothing but grunkle on the right. The approach over a long grass bunker plays to a reverse-crescent shape green broken up by ridges and terraces. |

HOLE 18PAR 5 - HCP 6In elevation difference alone, this is possibly the most dramatic par 5 on the coast. The tee shot plays down to a rippled landing area then doglegs sharply left and down a mogul-covered “ski slope” to an elevated and moderately trapped green. Big hitters can carry the bunkers and fig trees guarding the corner to take advantage of the slope and to set up a reasonable length second shot to the green. This is a hole made difficult mostly by the awkward stances which one may encounter, but it is a fun finishing hole for players of all levels. |
